In short: one necessary cookie for your language setting, one optional statistics cookie only with your consent, no third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
Cookies
This website sets its own functional cookies: uie_consent stores your cookie decision (1 year), uie_visited prevents counting the same visit twice within 1 hour and is only set once you have consented to statistics, and uie_csrf is a strictly necessary security cookie for the comment form (2 hours, no tracking). No third-party (advertising, tracking) cookies are set.
Visit statistics
If you consent, we store per visit: a timestamp, the page/design/language viewed, your IP address, and the approximate location (country/city) derived from it via the ipwho.is service. This data appears in aggregated form on the public statistics page. If you decline, nothing is stored.
Downloads
Downloads of the engine are counted fully anonymously (timestamp only, no IP, no cookie required).
Comments
When you post a comment we store your name, the comment text, the timestamp, your email address and – for abuse prevention – your IP address and browser identifier (user agent). The email address is only used for confirmation (double opt-in) and is not published. A comment only becomes visible after you click the confirmation link. You can request deletion of your comments via the contact details.
